my advice to you is to find a species of monitor that YOU are interested in working with and work with breeding that species. Making money breeding monitors of any species is tough as it is with a lot of species of reptiles.
You can always sell truly captive bred monitors but some of the species like savanahs are hard to sell at too much of a price increase over the huge wild caught market.
On the other hand if you started breeding ackies you can sell them but you will be competing with people who have been doing so for a long time.
Either scenario is fine if you are working with a species you enjoy working with as you can always sell your babies based on your own positive experience with the species and you won't mind the adversities you face with the tough market that is out there.
the best way too make money with monitors or any other reptile is to forget about them and go to college and become a doctor or lawyer or something else that earns a paycheck. then you can keep whatever you want and not worry about making money off of it, and you might even make enough money to feed the waters you are considering breeding lol.
On a quite serious note waters are a great species of monitor to work with, I love them dearly and have worked with them for many years, However if you have little or no experience with monitors I would strongly suggest you start with something much much smaller.
