I like your analogy because I have never cared much for traditional sports. The biggest forms of recreation for me have always been herping and surfing. I feel like that kinda gave me a different perspecive than most and helped me see that everybody deserves to be able to persue their own intrests equally, as long as they aren't hurting others.



Most of the public couldn't imagine something like sports being banned but they are quite moldable when it's something that doesn't interest them. They will readily give up others rights and privlidges. It's selfish and it reveals a lack of principles when they care about having/protecting their interests but can't apply that principle to somebody else's interests.



In my area 4WDing and duck hunting are under attack. I have never cared for those activities but I support those people in that I think they should have a place to do their thing, specifically because I know what it feels like to have my interests attacked.
