I purchased this python at a reptile show this weekend. It was offered as a male Mojave. Most of the snakes that I keep are pretty wirey and I wanted a nice calm "pet" snake so my grandson can get comfortable handling a snake. My question for you is "do you think that this is a Mojave? It's a pretty aberrant one at best and some of it's features just don't seem quite right to me. The head fades from dark chocolate eye lines to a light brown on top. The belly is white but the colors on the back fade two thirds of the way down along the full length of the sides to a creamy yellow. It is hard to really see this in the photo but with snake in hand it is quite noticable. What is your opinion of the probable genetic make-up of this one? Thanks for your wisdom!
