While I agree that you can end up having them for a while, I don't see a reason why it has to be 2-3 months.
(Unless they don't eat for you)
If they start eating quickly, you're looking at 1-2 weeks after hatching that they shed and eat,
then another 2 meals after the first one....and I think they are ready for a new home.
(After 3 meals)
Then again, that is just what I do. Some may do it a different way.
