I don't have an answer for the leopard question, but I can tell you that spectors sometimes have some yellow/orange blushing, but not too much, and specials have some extra white on their sides. Specials are very difficult to differentiate from normals, so sometimes you'll see ad listed as "possible special" and if they aren't too sure it will be discounted.
