Posted by: varanid at Fri May 13 17:46:01 2011 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by varanid ] Figured this is as good a place as any...I've got a former coworker whose parents are ranchers in the S. eastern TX panhandle and they've been having problems with bullsnakes and rat snakes getting into the chicken coop. last year they found 2 bulls and a rat eating chicks. They're trying to figure out a way to snake proof an open air chicken coop...any ideas? I was thinking maybe some very fine mesh like in a screen door but they're worried that wouldn't allow sufficient ventilation for the chickens if it was entirely enclosed in that. [ Hide Replies ]
