It all depends on what you want to produce and how much $$$ you have to spend. Banana balls are normally listed at 15k for females and 60k for males... if you can find anyone selling one. If you like bumble bees you can pick up a spider which give you a 1:4 shot at a bumble bee, or you can pick up a bumble bee and give you a 1:4 for bumble bees but give you a shot for a killer bees, and super pastels as well. Needless to say a rule of thumb to breeding is the more you put on the table the better your odds to hit something big the less you put on the table the smaller price value the jackpot. If you think of it like gambling how many times to you hear of someone winning $1,000,000 on a penny slot. Biggest thing to keep in mind though, is pick up what you need to produce what you want but also keep it within your means, keep in mind that you may not get eggs your first year and with that you may not want to put you whole bank on the project if you and your family cannot handle to kick back for a first few years.
