My vote would be ackie as well. Just remember to do a ton of research. It is well worth the effort to give these guys a proper setup. It took me a while to get one because I was always into big monitors. When I finally saw one in person and it had a great price, I figured why not. Definitely a good decision, they are really awesome. I know prefer smaller species of monitor.



On the arboreal end of things I really like timors. They stay relatively small and in my experience (please chime in if you think differently) are pretty easy to keep. I would say they are a little more difficult than ackies though, so I would still say ackie unless you just like arboreals.
