Kahl X Sharp Genetics Question
The Breeding between Kahl and Sharp was done years ago By Peter Kahl and Brian Sharp.
At that time is was proven No special Phenotype is produced by breeding these two together.
All that you produce are Double Heterozygous Boas they are Het for both Kahl and Sharp strain boas.
Once somebody were to breed those Double hets back together they
would not be able to pick out one from the other.
A Double Homozygous Kahl/Sharp Boa would most likely
Not be distinguishable either.
You would have to Keep all the other babies or cull all of them
because releasing them into the market would be a
huge problem waiting to happen.
Honestly think about it, what kind of chaotic disarray would ensue ???
Moving forward these offspring could have far reaching impact on future projects . . . . . mostly negative impact.
We see it happen now when people get a Boa thought to be an
Albino but they find out it is also het Anery.
With this combination most people are usually happy about
this hidden unknown gene.
In some situations people are not happy about it, it takes years
to raise a Boa to maturity.
Do you realize how upsetting and demoralizing it would be to
raise a fem Boa for 4-6 years only to find it turns out
Not to be what you purchased it as.
You wanted a sharp strain Boa to make Paradigms with and find out
it was a Kahl strain . . . . ut oh . . . now what ?????
