No there is no one breeding them and they are not ranched either. They simply get eggs from wild caught females, AT BEST. Most are just wild babies.
I knew one of the exporters, he told me that they told the locals to bring only babies.
Their were many reasons and none are conservation minded, althought collecting babies is better then collecting adults.
They get the same if not more money for babies and shipping which is their only hard cost is much cheaper. They can ship 10 to 20 babies for the price of one adult.
