So I have been trying to keep up with the recent topics about the mixing of genetic morphs in hognose and I personally can agree on both sides.

As many of you already know, I was surprised with a trio of het albinos that started popping out hypos. I did not create the dble hets, nor would I have thought to do so but ended up with them and I cannot say that I am disappointed (yet). In my opinion, you can easily see the difference in the dbl homozygous albino and it does offer some nice features. Is it worth the possible confusion? Honestly, my opinion is not made up. I have to separate my own bias (because I have them) before I can fully make up my mind on the subject. I do know that some breeders/keepers will like them and others will not.

I have sold some of the albino poss. hets and advertised as such, but I guess in some breeders opinions I am pure evil.

At this point I am not 100% sure of what line the hypo is coming from either. Some lines have been ruled out and to the best of my knowledge some lines have not been bred together to see if they are compatible or not.

So here is the big question for you die hard hog breeders; If you were in the same position as I am and you have the double hets, albino het hypo, hypos het albino and the double homo animal, what do you do?

Do you try to out cross the two lines and separate them using the visual morph poss. hets?

Do you keep the project going making sure to accurately disclose the genetics?

Do you throw them all in the freezer and start over?
I eagerly await your opinions.
