We will raise the limit as we gain time with the program.
As for delays, it is determined by the FedEx Guaranteed time. FedEx has all kinds of exceptions and loopholes for that, weather, mechanical issues, etc.
We cut all of that out of it, and just go by the Guaranteed time. If it is supposed to be there by 10:30am, that is the time. If it is 10:31 at delivery, due to weather delays, mechanical issues, driver falls asleep, you are covered, for both late delivery (shipping cost refund) and DOA (up to the insured limit).
Keep in mind that there are also rural and remote addresses, with Guaranteed times of 12 noon and 4:30 pm, and we recognize those times as well.
If the package is delivered on time, there is no opportunity for it to sit on a tarmac, sit in the sun, or any other type of abuse or neglect. In order for your package to be delivered on time, it is moving through the system, steady and quick.
Shipping a $1000 snake out can be nerve wracking even for the most experienced shipper. There is always that fear of delay, fear of the unknown, and the SYR Live Arrival Insurance program takes that liability onto our shoulders, instead of the breeders. ----- robyn@proexotics.com
