Of course the better you understand the genetics the more informed your decisions are.
Individual traits for consideration...
Albino and Anery are both recessive meaning the aby must get one gene each from mom and dad to show the trait.
Least cost is het x het but you produce many possible hets
Middle cost is Visual x het, IMO great as you produce visuals and 100%hets
Most cost is Visual x Visual - Produces the most higher end babies but you have fewer varieties produced.
Motley and Hypo are two different morph genes that most consider to be located in the same gene pair. Meaning there are three possible genes within the two genes in six possible combinations where:
N=normal
M=Motley
H=Hypo
so you could have NN, NM, NH, MM, MH or HH
Individually Hypo and Motley are different in that Hypo is Dominant and Motley is co-dominant.
Dominant - same visual phenotype with one or two mutant genes
co-dominant - different visual phenotype with one vs two mutant genes.
