Very interesting looking specimen. However, upon close examination of your picture, it almost looks like your hognose might actually still have eyes, albeit very small rudimentary ones, but look at where the arrow is pointed on your picture.
To me, and I could be totally wrong, but this doesn't look like a normal scale and it's black like a little bead and appears to be in a groove, like it was an eye that was developing and then just stopped for whatever reason.
Either way, it's interesting all the same. Thanks for sharing!
