i havent used my boaphiles for pits, but i've housed dumerils boas, argentine boas, cal kings, corns, black milks, and balls in them. all without any complaints (other than price).
they are very sturdy, very easy to clean, look great, very easy to heat with flex and a thermostat, i've never had bedding fall out even with my black milks who like to push aspen all over the place. I have all of mine facing a large window in a spare bedroom so they get plenty of light. ventilation is fantastic, but not so much that the cages lose heat.
the only possible problem i can think of is very aggresive pits might come lunging out the front and onto the floor.
