i certainly hope that's the case.
but i can also see some idiot reporter jumping the gun before he does adequate research and getting some facts mixed up. the guy probably knows very little about the whole issue to begin with - other than that "burms are invading the everglades" that is.
as i understand the process, the USFWS created the final draft, then submitted it for consideration by the OMB. the OMB would either pass it as written, or kick it back to them for changes. i would THINK that we would have heard through SOMEONE if it was kicked back. it's not like USARK doesn't have connections on those levels. i could be wrong, though - and hope i am.
if we're REALLY lucky, they kicked it back and the USFWS removed all but burms and af-rocks to ensure passage - all without telling anyone.
