I hope statements regarding the future release of burms and associated prey items is merely frustration being vented; if not, I have two big concerns.
1) I like to believe that people in this industry keep reptiles for reasons besides their monetary value. I know that if they pass laws to ban my animals I will keep them until someone comes into my home and forcibly removes them. They can take the monetary value, they can't take the inherent value to the keeper. Only we can give that away.
2) If releases occur now we are surely doomed as a whole. If the attitude of this industry is to toss away our animals as if they're a foreclosed home, then the government has truly won and deservedly so.
We as a community have to stand behind our rights and act as a watchdog, not only for the government, but for our industry as well. We cannot allow the propagation of the behavior that got us into this mess in the first place.
