I imagine if the traps aren't checked and the rodent is left on there for longer than 12 hours it would die. I have had 1 die on a glue trap because I didn't know it had escaped and didn't check the traps soon enough. Usually I check my petroom twice a day.
I have had a very young ASF stuck on a trap for, I THINK, all night. I think it got out *because* I checked water bottles and whatnot. I released it the next morning, cleaned it up and put it back with the colony, by that evening you wouldn't have known what happened to it.
I have never had a snake be anything but just angry at me because it was stuck to a glue board overnight.
So, in order for these to be effective at LIVE capture, they need to be checked diligently. As a result, they have worked wonderfully for me. I know these aren't for everyone. ----- 25 year old 0.1 from Lincoln, NE
