We just recently had to treat a boa with a really bad RI. Well, within the last year. It was terrible! He's made a full recovery, thankfully, using some of the methods that have been layed out in this thread.



The first piece of the puzzle was getting him into a warmer, super clean cage with fresh water daily. Husbandry, husbandry, husbandry! The ambient temp in our snake room sits at around 84ish, but he got a heated cage that took that to 89-90 on it's hot spot. The cage was seperated from the other snakes, of course. Always wash those hands and disinfect before and after handling each one of those sick snakes!



Next was batryl. Get yourself a good relationship with that vet of yours! You want to get extra batryl on hand, it's excellent to have for multiple snake ailments. Our vet recommended a shot every two days (I can't remember the dose). We did this with him for about three weeks, give or take. He's made a full recovery, though. No more bubbles, no wheezing. He looks and eats great now and has been that way for almost a year since the RI.



Now for those batryl doses...there are a couple of excellent references to use for treating various snake ailments, complete with weights and measurements. You can find them both at Amazon.
