I am trying to breed Honduran milksnakes for the first time. 3 weeks after warming up and a first shed by my female and the male just isn't interested.
So to start this I will try to answer the questions that I know you all may ask. Yes,I have a properly sexed pair of snakes. Yes,my snakes were brumated for a little over 2 months at temps 50-55 degrees. I have Cal-kings that were brumated with them and to put it bluntly my 2 male Cal-kings are "LAYING THE LUMBER!". Yes,my snakes are of breeding size(although opinions on this vary greatly). my male is 43" and 440g. My female is 48" and 660g. I do have more but none of them will be ready for 1-2 more years.
When I put my Kings together,it's almost instantaneous that the males are on the female. But with my Hondurans he glides alongside her for a bit. But within a few minutes they are using each other as a pillow.
I know quite a few of you guys have bred Hondurans and I am looking for advice or maybe some words of encouragement. Thanks for reading and I can't wait for your input.
