Horizontal space, and belly heat is best. In the wild they spend most of their time underground in termite holes/mounds, so they don't need light. They do better with heat from below, or if it is from above, I'd suggest a ceramic heat emitter. Gives off heat but not light, which can bother nocturnal species. ----- "What is man without the beasts?
