What type of bedding is best

I'm trying different types of bedding I use newspaper and aspen right now was thinking of going to cypress mulch is it good or does it help humidity any way I. Will not use pine or cedar do to the toxicity of it to the reptiles I see alot of different types just wondering what you guys and gals opinions were thanks
