I remember the same thing about Retics because of the temperaments of wild caughts and Ball Pythons because of their difficult feeding habits. I was working in a pet shop an we’d get in loads of Ball Pythons loaded with internal and external parasites-even ticks! Of course we had to force feed and they never did well. They’d sell for $29.99. Now, you can get a perfect little CB normal Ball for way less and have an enjoyable experience with them.
Again, once captive breeding started, everything changed.

The Reptiles Magazine that article that really changed things for me was Jeff Ronne’s Boa Breeding Article. I produced my first litter that year just after the article had come out and the female that gave me the babies must have read it because she followed the schedule perfectly!
