I have never been able to decide if it was a garter snake or a redbelly. It's an odd color for either snake here in Maine but the rusty colored marking at the neck along with the lighter blotches at the supralabials keeps me thinking redbelly. It's size fell within a range for a garter with an adult pattern but also within redbelly range. | ||
