The main worry would be tearing of the esophagus. I had this occur with an Amazon Tree boa around 10 years ago. The snake started to swallow the rodent live (barely). I was horrified to see the rodents claw rip through the esophagus. The snake did not survive this, succumbing to infection despite surgery and medication.
