Hi People,

This year I finally managed to breed a good litter with Super Raptor Boa's (and they are Kubsch Pastel as well). I am very happy to show you this result, because I can finally show it's possible to make more Super Raptors.

I have always trusted the theory for the Raptor to be incomplete dominant, and I knew for sure I would breed more Super Raptors one day. I know some people have been sceptic about it and want to see before they believe. Well, it took quite a few years AND a lot of patience, but I now I am proud to show you my results.

Let me start by showing my Super Raptor Male, the one that was the start of it all and the Kubsch Pastel I have used to outbreed and find out the gene's.

At the end of 2007 I placed the SuperRaptor with my female Kubsch Pastel. At that point I didn't know it was a Super Raptor, but did have my theory knowing the litter he came from. At that point I did already call the project "Raptor".

The first of May 2008 the female delivered her babies (a picture of the babies is on my website). They all had the same connected pattern, striped tail and overall look. Some more extreme/beautifull than others. This is an example of one of the babies, which shows the Kubsch Pastel influence:

In 2009 I bred 13 Raptors and 12 Normals when I put together the brother of my original super and another Kubsch Pastel Female (Pictures of the breeding are shown in my Youtube Vid). I also tried to breed the original Super Raptor with his Raptor Sisters, but I never got 1 baby out of those attempts...

Finally in 2010 I did manage to breed SuperRaptor x Raptor, but the result was not good enough, though it gave me important info and the boost to hang on: A litter full of potatoes, 1 raptor and 1 SuperRaptor, but both kinked and stillborn:

Then again 1 year later in 2011 I tried the same combination again, same female, because my 2008 females were not ready to breed. This time another male and the result was again not good enough, but better than in 2011: a lot of potatoes, 1 raptor AND 1 living and healthy Super Raptor, a Kubsch Pastel Super Raptor!

But unfortunatly again this time the luck wasn't with me, the animal started to eat like normal but then after a few weeks it suddenly appeared sick and died within 1 day! Autopsy showed the animal managed to have a collapsed stomach after the last meal! Shoot!

Luckily I have kept all my 2008 babies and after 4 years I start attempting breeding my Boa females, so just a little wait and I could try the first breeding of father back to daughter. I put these animals together:
Male:

Female:

Finally a good litter of babies. Small litter, but no potatoes or stillborns: YEAH! 3 really pretty SuperRaptors, with great patterns and great potential colors. I cannot wait for them to develop their colors! The Pastel Raptors in the litter are just like copies of their mother, which is one of the thickest patterned of my 2008 litter. Here are the quick Goo pictures I made:

Look how big and busy this pattern is:

Belly up:

This one is very light, check the red/brown eyes:

This one comes close to the original, but I think it will be a little bit more colorfull

I can say I am looking forward to seeing them develop. From what I have seen from the KubschRaptors they gain colors a lot in the first years, especially when they are grey at birth. I have dreamed about the Kubsch Pastel Super Raptors Boa for quite a while so finally 2012 will be the year to see them grow up

Off course I will try to post as many pictures I can upcoming year. Please let me know what you all think about my new babies And tell me if there are any questions.

Thanks!
