At reptiles shows, most vendors tend to use "Sharpie" or other quick-drying permanent markers. They come in various colors & are resistant to water. Be aware that this is not for use on amphibians, semi-aquatic or aquatic reptiles. Also, when the reptile is going to shed, the mark will also go with the old skin.
