I'd say when they're 2-3 years old you start seeing the yellow. Keep in mind that the color shifts (the original white rings turn yellow and the rings that start off as yellow turn white).

I do not know how this works genetically. For several years I've bred an albino male to a het female. A few years back I held back a pair of their offspring (the original male is 17 years old and the female is 15). Both of the offspring grew up to have the "yellow reverse" bands.

The female is the one in the original post. Here's the male holdback.
