Cannibalism!

Thankfully my polyz gave me a break this week and neither was involved in the act. Given my luck lately I bet you were all wondering though.







I went fishing today and part of the plan was to get a photo of one of these green damselflies... I was about to snap the first photo when the damselfly shot off and landed moments later with his dinner companion. I didn't realize what was going on so after a couple of pics I went back to fishing... before paddling off to a new spot I had another look at them. To my surprise the head and half the thorax of the dinner companion were absent from the scene. The dinner party broke up before I was able to get another picture... no pun intended.
