I would like to present the World’s first Hypo Jungle Key West Boas and Jungle Keys which are of course also a first!
This is the Hypo Jungle that is the Momma of these puppies in a picture taken about three weeks ago. She was loaded to the neck bone!:

Here is another picture of her taken April 27, 2012 about a month and a half into her gestation period:

Here she is during courtship with the Key West sire and another male that really wanted to breed this girl, but alas, only the Key West was interested in her:

Together they have made the first Key West Jungle combos.
This is what I saw at 6:10 AM Independence day 2012:

Yup... another slug. Someday maybe I'll get it right. LOL
A nice straight up Jungle in the middle of this shot:

But that isn't really what I was going for I guess. LOL
This litter has the Best Hypo Key Wests that I have had so far. I am really pleased with them.

Post GOO shots are always my favorites! Well, I guess until they shed that is ! There is a Hypo Key West toward the left of this pic:

The Boa in the center of this shot is a Jungle Key West:

The Jungle mutation serves to tweak the Key West and Hypo Key West like it does in Motleys, Arabs and other more pure pattern mutations. It serves to accent the end result, at least in this first litter of them, rather than causing wholesale changes like many other combination mutations are prone to do. Here is what I have observed in general having less than half a day to think all this through. These changes are not universal to every single one that is both Key and Jungle or Hypo Key and Jungle, but you can see these as you look them over as indicators of the tweaking I am talking about.
- The lighter ground color near the tail vs. the ground color more toward the head. - The little dark edging the boarders the pattern especially toward the tail. It just sets off that pattern giving it a little more crisp look. - Several of them have that little super light dot on the top of the head that you see in many Jungles. - The Head stripe which on Key West is typically bold and thick most of the time including the points that extend making a virtual cross on the head is diminished and sometimes broken as is seen on many Jungles. - Some have a thinning of the connectors between the saddles but certainly not all.
One of the tricky things about Jungles is there are no universal indicators that are common to ALL Jungles. They are quite variable and can have but a single trait or all of them. By "ALL" I guess it depends on who you ask. I think there are six or seven.
- That "popping" color is something that Key West already have so I am not sure that that is something that I can really go with. - The reduction or absence of saddle points is something that of course the Key West does a better and more consistent job of doing that Jungles do. - The Jungle mutation does not seem to have been able to cause aberrancies. At least not in these Key West kiddies. The regular Hypos have some nice aberrancies, but not the Key West Boas.
Here is another Jungle Key West baby. I did spot this one first! :

This is a Hypo Key West Jungle:

And another Hypo Jungle Key West who has already found a little perch to hang out in:

And a few more shots:
This Hypo Key West has me salivating...

One of the other Hypo Jungles in the litter:

And a group shot of the Hypos and non-Hypos without any Key stuff in the shot.

All in all I guess The 4th of July 2012 is a pretty good day for at least this Boa guy.
