Bull snakes seem to have fast metabolisms, so will defecate within a couple days of feeding. They make big somewhat loose piles. Aspen is my choice for substrate, as I can lift the gob out when spot cleaning. You will notice when they have made a deposit. LOL!
They like a big heavy water bowl nested in a pyrex glass pan. They like the low 70's F for ambient temps, with a UTH hot spot at about 85 F during the cool season for digestion. During the summer I turn all the heaters off. They prefer cooler to hot, being temperate zone animals. They are fossorial, which means they spend the majority of their time under ground where it is cool.
A cage 2 ft x 4 ft is needed at the least. Bigger is better.
