I've not ordered house flies online, but one of my best friends is a long time family friend of the Skipio's guy and his business is impeccable. They just visited him this last week.
Back in the old days before I knew any better, I fed my old anole house flies that I caught in the garage at my parents' house. Max loved them - they were fun to chase and just the right size. They have a decent calcium/phosphorus ratio, too. The only things I would worry about are exoskeletons and containment. I read somewhere (and darned if I know where), that if you feed lots of flies, it gets hard for them to digest the exoskeletons. And I haven't figured out how to keep them. Crickets can be a pill, but at least they don't fly. If you're going to feed just the larvae, then obviously aren't a concern.
How's the new setup, by the way? ----- Torey
