The "waxy stool" is a very good indicator of an impending litter but really only for those females that are not eating and pooping all along. IMO it's natures way of voiding any waste products and clearing the way for the slime to come out clean.
I offer food every three weeks before due date. Most of the time the gravid females stop eating all together on their own. Only time will tell because I've also seen a female that was not gravid continue to eat and deliver a small litter. ----- Thanks,
