I had a female Hypo Honduran (from Extreme line) come out of hibernation this spring which never started feeding(2009 animal). She lost weight over a few months and then died. I did notice that two or three scales on her spin appeared to have lost its pigment. It’s like the pigment in the scale bled out. Looked very weird. Now I have a hypo extreme male(has red eyes but not very extreme looking-2009 animal) that appears to be developing four or five of these scales which have lost the pigment(there might even be a slight bump)(all are on the spine of the snake....same as what happened to the female). The male has never been a good feeder but has really declined in the last few months. He still eats occasionally (twice per month) but I wouldn’t be surprised if I were to check on him in the next few weeks and find him dead. Neither of the snakes are that closely related beside being from the extreme line. Most of my cages are just racks with Rubbermaid sliding drawers with a worm and a cool end. Bedding is aspen.
