I see a dry spot and a couple really small dry spots...could be burn,bacteria or a cut/scrape....looks fine....how did it happen is what we need to know...

bedding?
cage?
size of cage?
heat sources?
humidity?
feed schedule?
cage funiture?

is there something like a log or rock he could scrape it on? is there an under tank heater?, is there water in the bowl that is full of wood chips or fecal matter (probably not huh)...

.....I've seen balls ALOT worse...and they do fine...

like mentioned...it is in shed and will change in a week...>>>>
