yes...go cheap......pine....farm stores, Agway, Tractor Supply, etc...local....smells like pine...best answer in awhile...LOL...Yep....

.....as for carefresh and shredded paper like the others mentioned...I didn't like it...and it costs so much....it's for the person with one hamster...not thousands....
