Posted by: snakekeeper77 at Wed May 1 15:30:43 2013 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by snakekeeper77 ] I agree that stress does play a huge role in the health and immune systems in reptiles, especially captive reptiles. actually, I would even go as far as to say that a wild reptile has way less stress than most captive animals...especially animals not kept in optimal conditions(which has a very wide range...wider than correct parameters indeed). I would say that the most stress a wild reptile would go through would be abnormal weather patterns, or maybe less than ideal numbers of prey items...as well as habitat destruction...but naturally speaking I would say odd weather patterns and prey scarcity. I think a lot more captive reptiles are under a certain amount of stress, even though a lot of their keepers would never admit it. that does make sense Frank, I didn't know if there was another specific 'cause' of that type of impaction...but the stress does make a lot of sense. | ||
