So I just adopted a baby corn, he's about 10 days old but from a shelter, then moved around a lot. I don't know if he has shed or not, he's more than old enough to have done it already but I don't know if he has even had a water dish big enough to get into before a few days ago when I took him in.
He's been with me a couple days, destressed in his tank (he's up and active a lot). Tried feeding him today for the second time. Live pinky the first time but the people who had him before just put it in and took it out when he wouldn't eat, and he was stressed-out anyway. So now I put in a thawed pinky which he has ignored for a good eight hours, so I took it out.
How long should I leave the pinky in the tank?
How long before I should worry about him not eating?
What are my alternatives? I don't know when I can get live pinkies, the pet store has changed distributors and said they don't know when their next shipment will be but they always feed their baby corns frozen anyway.
I'm watching him right now playing around hanging off the thermometer, he looks happy and comfortable (I haven't handled him since I got him to help him adjust to the new tank). I've looked in various forums for advice, most say just leave it right in front of him (which didn't work) or make sure that he has a place to hide (which he does) or be sure the tank is warm enough (whichit should be).
Thanks so much for help,
Dara
