feeding turtles outside the tank.............

I have a question. I have 2 baby RES's and a map turtle...they all live in the same 29 gallon tank, and love it. They bask on eachother. Well, I have been feeding the turtles in seperate tupperware containers for 3 reasons.

1. to keep my tank clean. I find it REALLY helps in keeping the tank crystal clear. No messy guts of crickets and worms.

2. to keep them from fighting. When one gets a piece of food, all of the others bite at it also...so they end up accidentally biting eachothers faces and hands.

3. to make sure every turtle gets the right amount of food.



is there anything wrong with this? I want to do this even when they are older. I am thinking of getting a 20gallon long tank and setting up a filter with 3 dividers in the tank so i dont have to keep using the tupperware.



so is it ok to do this forever?? thanks.
