Shell Miscolored

Please help me out. I posted a message on here 6 months ago when half my turtle's shell began fading and turning white/miscolored. Only one person responded and said it was his scutes shedding and it should be fine in a little while. Now its been 6 months and nothing changed. The shell is not soft and he eats and acts completely normal. Any suggestions on what's going on? Should i do anything to make sure he's 100% healthy?
