I read your subject and felt sorry that you were having peeing problems, then realized maybe you meant your cat.



You will get other great suggestions, but here are some...



1. If you haven't had both cats checked by a vet lately, please do it to rule out urinary problems. If either are drinking extra water lately, straining to pee, or going to the box (or outside of the box) a lot more often, get them checked very, very soon. Blockages can get dangerous to the cats health fast.



2. They make a litter called "Cat Attract". You can get it at PetSmart and other pet stores. It is special litter made to attract cats to a litter box. Use it full strength at first to see how it works for several days and then if you find it expensive (I haven't priced it lately) you may want to mix it in with regular litter to keep them coming back to the box.



3. For the one that pees on things, make it "uncomfortable" simultaneous to the new litter. Cover things with un-fun textures to the paws. Put astro-turf mats, carpet runners upside down (with nubbies up), or a table cloth/shower curtain liner across the top of the bed or furniture he is peeing on. Vinyl table cloths/shower curtain liners from a Dollar store may be the cheapest way to go. Also consider closing off the bedroom when you aren't there if the bed is a hot spot.



If the above ideas don't work, you may need to isolate the cat(s) to a small bedroom with the box to re-train them to use it for several days. Using the Cat Attract litter and when they come out of confinement, cover things and keep using the special litter until things seem to work.
