I am useless on this one. I am as torn as you are... Part of me says, let her go since she won't hurt herself, but there is the lining to worry about... I have a simlilar situation in that I had the bottom of my tub re-painted (long story, damage by a contractor dropping something in it cracking the finish). Since then, I am paranoid of the bottom of the tub getting scratched as I had terrible surface rust problems... Stanley loves the tub. I always kept a bowl of water in it and for years he drank out of the bowl of water in the tub. But, he doesn't really get in the tub much anymore. He wants to occasionally, but I am afraid of his nails scratching the new surface bringing rust back up eventually... So, I have a simple solution. I close the bathroom door. He has adjusted well to not going in there...



I think putting the tape on there would actually discourage her if that is what you want. I can't see her wanting to sit on the sticky tacky stuff...
