anyone tried drug Elavil?

One of our two cats poops away from the two boxes out of spite when he doesn't get his way. The doctor prescribed this anti depressant. 10 mg once daily. We're currently trying isolation when he does this, for a few days. The drug makes him act too disconnected. This cat just acts way too needy, when he doesn't get the attention, expect some poop on the basement floor.
