I've herd Veileds are much easier than jacksons. I've never had a jacksons so I dont know first hand. Veileds will do well in an all screen inclosure, with proper food and dusting, and dripping water, with a min. of 2 5 min. mist of their leaves a day. check out charm_paradise's website. it will give good beginner information.

here are a few tips from me.

1. ALL screen cage is a MUST! you can purchase one at your local petsmart or other pet store if you dont have petsmart where you live. try to get at least 18x18x24 they like hight not width.

or you can build one for about $35 if your crafty.

2. Feed mainly crickets or silkworms. other foods can be given as a treat but not constant. dust the crickets. I dust weds. fri. and sunday with a product called "miner-all 0" because mine are outdoors. if your keeping it indoors you want "miner-all I" if your gonna breed them you need other dusts too.

3. Set up a large pan in the bottom of cage. poke a SMALL pin hole in an old plasic jug for a dripper. this allows the drip to last 3 or 4 hours. drip over plant leaves into the pan.

4. Mist leaves (make sure you have lots, the more leaves the more secure the veiled)with a hand mister till leaves are good and wet at least 2x's a day. 3 is better.



If you feel you can do all this I'd say try a Veiled. read some past posts here too they have a wealth of info in them.
