Plaque control

My vet recommended using a plaque control treat for my cat (despite my handle, I also own a cat). I got her pounce tartar treats, and she seems to like them. The vet said it would help keep her teeth healthy. I didn't realize this was an issue for cats. ANybody else use some type of tartar control food or treat?
