I tried allergy shots for a while and they didn't work for me. My allergist's solution was for me to get rid of my cats. There is no way in the world I would do this and I've found that the more you are around a cat your body will build up a natural immunity. I still get the occassional hive from a head-butt or a lick on my chin but a topical allergy medicine will relieve it. It's a small price to pay for unconditional cat love.
