For years now, I've used a wide tooth metal comb on my Persians to comb out their long hair and pull out mats. I swore by it. It was the best money I had spent on the cats yadda yadda yadda. Well, apparently the cats disagreed with me because they took it away from me and hid it. For two weeks I've searched and finally decided I'd have to buy another, so I sent my hubby to the store. He came back with this plastic wide tooth comb. I'm thinking, yeah right, that's gonna help. Well, I tried it and I was SOOOOO impressed by the job it did. It didn't hurt the cats which the metal one always did, and it worked quickly and well. It didn't even make their hair staticy. I couldn't believe it! It was just a plastic wide tooth comb with a handle, built sturdy and bought in the African American section of CVS. I still need to buy a dematter rake and other such impliments of feline torture, but this comb is now my favorite. The kitties seem impressed as well.
