Could he have a food allergy to the perscription food? I know I didn't like food I was allergic to. I steered clear. But didn't know I was allergic to it until some one forced me to try it (shellfish). Yup I had a reaction and found out I was allergic. The allergist tested me and said I was extremely allergic. This is just an idea. Maybe try a different brand of prescription food that does the same thing.

Also, if he is stress I would try getting Feliway's comfort zone plug ins. Available at Petco or on line.
