How much does he need to eat?

Hi everyone I am new to this board...I was wondering if anyone knew how much my cat really needs to eat. He weighs 10lbs. and I feed him Science Diet adult canned food...the can says 1 whole can for a 5lbs. cat so that means I need to feed Moe 2 cans?? What do you all think? I usually give him a little more than half the can and he doesn't always finish it. Any feedback greatly appreciated
