RE: swollen area on cat's face

Well, by the time Tuesday rolled around when a vet would be open, we found our answer: another infection. The area has been drained and we're back to antibiotics and topical oxygenated silver spray. She's already feeling much better. I'm not quite sure what the cause was as she was originally attacked by the other cat several weeks ago by the time she showed swelling. Can it take that long for infection and symptoms to show? Or is this something that is festering inside her and will keep recurring that requires a vet?



We prefer to do as much on our own as possible, of course, without putting our animals in peril. And I'd prefer not to use antibiotics, but am at a loss as to an alternative.
